51 Students Pole Dancing for Charity

NEWCASTLE - As many as 51 students of Newcastle University suffered abrasions and burns in an effort to break the record for the Guinness Book of World Records for pole dancing. They spent over 30 hours to break the record.

The students consisted of 50 women and one man. Alternately, one of them sliding and spinning on a pole in an attempt to break the record.

For the record, the two poles are provided, used alternately at a time. Two students will dance on two poles for one minute before switching to another couple.

This effort they did with great purpose. They intend to collect approximately 1,000 pounds for charities African children, Infants Trust. Similarly, as quoted from Asia One, Friday (30/11/2012).

According to the President of Pole Dance Group Newcastle University Mellisa Whip (21), they managed to raise more than the target set. Business Management student has done pole dancing for more than three years. She said pole dancing is a good exercise and the right to build self-confidence.
