Launched Space, Tuesday (11/27/2012), a Long March 4C rocket shot into the sky at 0406 GMT Sunday (25/11) or 11:06 pm EST (Saturday). The rocket was flown from the Jiuquan launch base in northwestern China.
According to U.S. military tracking data, three-tiered rocket put into orbit Yaogan 16 space 680 miles high with an inclination of 63.4 degrees. The rocket was launched at 12:06 pm (25/11) local time.
According to Xinhua media, satellite designed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp., which is a contracting state-owned aerospace field. Xinhua also reported Yaogan 16 are designed to a variety of uses, such as technology experiments, survey land resources, estimate agricultural production and disaster prevention.
The mission marks the launch satellites into space-17 China is doing this year. Reportedly, this satellite will track the movement of ships with the technology of optical and radar observation instruments.
Satellite launch and orbit Yaogan 16 shows similarities with previous satellite missions, conducted in March 2010. These satellites consist of three spacecraft flying in close formation.
Chinese naval observation satellites is a partner to Naval Ocean Surveillance System (Noss) belongs to the National Reconnaissance Office, United States. These satellites run by the Chinese military. (FMH)
