JERUSALEM - Israel is likely to use other means to punish Palestinians who wish to update their status at the United Nations (UN). Jewish State began considering sanctions debts to Palestine.

Palestinian Application to be "non-state observer" at the UN is still condemnation of Israel and the United States (U.S.). However, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas insisted on going forward to the United Nations.

One senior diplomat at the UN said Israel would monitor the voting for the Palestinians in the UN General Assembly. However Israel began to consider the imposition of sanctions by exploiting Palestinian debts.

Until now, the Palestinian Authority has a substantial debt to the Israel Electric Company. Debt Palestinians reportedly in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Palestinians are still suffering from the prolonged economic crisis. Similarly, as reported by the Times of Israel, Wednesday (28/11/2012).

On Sunday last week, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in order to relieve pressure on Palestine. Meanwhile, Israel said that they would respond to the issue carefully.

"We will do everything in accordance with Israeli law and the framework of cooperation that has been signed with the Palestinians," the Israeli official said.

At first, Israel intends to withdraw from the 1993 Oslo agreements if Palestinians insisted to the UN. The Israeli ambassador was ordered to submit a report on the threat of the withdrawal of Israeli agreement to the presidents or prime ministers of the countries where they serve.

Basically, the Oslo agreement was a "Declaration of Principles of Self-Government Facilitation temporarily." The agreement was intended to resolve the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

Through the agreement, the Palestinians are allowed to establish an interim government (the Palestinian Authority). In addition, Israel is also asked to withdraw its troops in Gaza and the West Bank. (AUL)
