This was conveyed when asked about the threat of the United States (U.S.) and Israel to stop aid to Palestinians if the Palestinians continue to desire to get the status of membership in the United Nations (UN).
"I hope they do not do it, but if they did, we would not change his mind. Palestine is not for sale," said Mehdawi in between - between the commemoration of the international day of solidarity for the Palestinian people held at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta, Thursday (11/29/2012) this.
According Mehdawi such threats are common in politics and attitudes of the U.S. and Israel will be able to change over time.
"The Palestinians want is the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state living in peace with Israel, why did they reject it," added Mehdawi.
Mehdawi argued, would prejudice the cessation of funding Israel. Termination of the funds will indeed lead to chaos in Palestine, but it helped threaten the security of Israel.
"Continuing distribution of funds is the best thing for all concerned, both the Palestinians and the Israelis," concludes Mehdawi. (AUL)
