This is an open war involving two ultra-giant technology companies, particularly those producing more than half of the total number of mobile smart phones and tablets in circulation in the world. But in fact they've beaten the drums of war long before the year 2012.

Mid-2011, rather than fight in the market, Apple began to actively fight against its competitors in court. Starting from the nine lawsuits, wars and then widened to more than 50 cases spread across many countries in the world, involving claims of losses of billions of dollars.

Of the many cases, allegations of Apple mostly lies in the design of products that Samsung copied the design assessed them. Copied designs include rounded corners tipped, the bezel on the side of the gadget and the rear section.

But among many charges, the most the attention is a lawsuit in the United States. In the last week of August 2012, the Court of California decided to Samsung did infringe a number of Apple's patents. Consequently, Samsung ordered to pay damages of $ 1 billion alias around Rp 9, 6 trillion.

A number of parties reacted negatively to the court's decision. Some are questioning the competence of the jury in assessing the disputed technology, there is also a showing that the accused design like Samsung has used long before the presence of Apple products.

In addition, there is also nationalist sentiment. Apple wins court because the American people want to protect their own country and product markets from the invasion Samsung (South Korea).

After the court ruling, the war is not necessarily complete. In addition to Samsung's appeal and sued back, Apple also filed a request for eight additional like Samsung products banned from sale in the United States.

Despite losing in the U.S., Samsung fate in other countries are not that bad. In Japan, the judge ruled Samsung did not commit a foul. Courts in England also said Samsung is not copying Apple's design although there are some similarities. While at home to Samsung, South Korea, the court ruled they both violate the patent.

At the end of 2012, the Samsung vs Apple war settled down a little, although it does not mean the fire fighting has been extinguished. Almost certainly, there will be a lawsuit and lawsuits from both sides that will seize the attention of the world.
