CALIFORNIA - Yahoo and AVG announced a new partnership to deliver search results that are safe and avoid internet users from malicious websites and other threats.

Reporting from Search Engine Land, Saturday (12/15/2012), Yahoo uses technologi AVG LinkScanner to protect their users from malicious sites - an increase of 80 per cent of search results clicked on by the user during the holiday season - so this step is done to meet the needs of security-related issues in the search results.

"AVG is excited to work with Yahoo! to provide comfort and peace to Internet users in accessing and searching online," says AVG Technologies CEO JR Smith.

Senior Vice President of Connections Yahoo, Shasi Seth said with the cooperation of Internet users can access online content anywhere without having to worry about security threats.

"We are committed to providing a safe search experience. With this partnership is a strategic step to expand our search footprint," said Seth.
