BAMAKO - French fighter jets deployed troops in the capital of Mali, Bamako and bombard militant strongholds in the northern region of the country. France was waiting for help from the West African troops to evict militants in the north.
Mode of State has decided to support Mali, eradicate militant movement affiliated with Al-Qaeda. The attacks were concentrated in the area adjacent to the City of Timbuktu and Gao.
According to the French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, sudden intervention carried his country was successfully repulsed a militant attempt to dominate Bamako. Le Drian promise, French fighter jets will continue bombardment in the region.
"The president promised that, we all have to destroy the terrorists who are threatening the security of Mali, our own country, and Europe," said Le Drian, as quoted by Reuters on Monday (01/14/2013).
