CALIFORNIA - In recent months, Microsoft's competition with Google reached a new stage, including in matters of market share. According to data from research firm ComScrore, Google's internet search market share reached 66.7 percent, down 0.3 percent in December 2012 compared to November 2012, while Microsoft grabbed the increase.

Reporting from Neowin, Monday (01/14/2013), Microsoft's Internet search market share is 16.3 per cent in December 2012, up 01 percent from November 2012. Furthermore, in the same period, Yahoo came in third with 12.2 percent, up 0.1 percent.

Meanwhile, fourth and fifth positions respectively occupied by Ask Network with a market share in the period November 2012 and December 2012 by 3.0 percent and AOL 1.8 percent in December 2012, up from 0.1 percent from November 2012.

Bing is the basis for the search engine Yahoo, which effectively means that Microsoft has increased by 0.2 per cent in the internet search market last month. ComScore said more than 17.6 billion core searches in December, contributing 11.8 billion Google searches and web-based search engine Microsoft for 2.9 billion.
