Medvedev Admits Assad Makin Weakens

DAVOS - Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev acknowledged, opportunities Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to survive increasingly smaller. Medvedev acknowledged the country partnership with Syria but Medvedev reiterated that his country is not exclusive ally Syria.

"From the beginning, the Russian Federation was never an ally exclusive to Syria or President Assad," Medvedev said, as quoted by CNN, Monday (01/28/2013).

"We have a good relationship with him and his father (Hafez al-Assad), but he has a much more intimate relationship with other European countries," Medvedev said.

Former Russian president reiterated that Russia never said that the main objective of the policy is to keep the Assad regime. Decisions about the transition of power is only decided by the people of Syria Syria itself.

"If Assad toppled by revolutions, conflicts between the successors of Assad would happen and take up to several decades," he added.

When asked if the influence of militant Syria could spread to the south of Russia, Medvedev said that the influence it can also appear in the West. Western countries are also worried about the effect it should.

"They (militants influence) Syria could move to Europe if they want to try it., And also to the United States (U.S.). So, it will make us all aware," said the head of the State government Red Bear.

So far, the United Nations (UN) report, 60 thousand people were killed in combat in Syria since 2011. Most of them were civilians consisting of children and women.

Assad had asked all citizens to join the war on the side and fight the forces of the opposition faction. During the domestic war lasted, Assad calling opposition faction as a terrorist group trying to destabilize Syria. (AUL)
