Obama Say Congratulations to PM Israel

WASHINGTON - President of the United States (U.S.), Barack Obama congratulated Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, who recently won the most votes in parliamentary elections. Obama also promises more security cooperation ties between the U.S. and Israel.

"Obama spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu on the phone today, to congratulate him for the party Netanyahu successful in winning many seats in the Knesset in the Israeli elections," the White House said in a statement, as quoted by PTI, Tuesday (01/29/2013).

Besides promising a close security cooperation, Obama also expressed its commitment to maintain peace in the Middle East with Israel. The president did not forget to convey the message that his country and Israel continue to forge strong bilateral ties.

As is known, the relationship Obama and Netanyahu stiffened lately, especially with the emergence of Obama's comments about Netanyahu. In an article in Bloomberg, Obama claimed to depict the figure of Netanyahu as a political loser. It refers to the support of Netanyahu over Israeli settlement construction in the Palestinian territories.

Israeli officials immediately called Obama working against the Jewish State election. Meanwhile, some other Knesset officials argued, Obama's action was done intentionally because Netanyahu supports Mitt Romney in the 2012 U.S. presidential election.

Head of the Israeli government immediately responded by saying Obama asserted that, only Israel that could determine the best move, not someone else's (Obama). Obama's attitude was also criticized by Washington Post media. It kept a black president urged to apologize to Netanyahu and to foster close cooperation. (AUL)
