About 30 women have signed up to participate in the election but previously had been expected that they would be allowed to go forward.Guardian Council is an institution established to examine the election candidates in accordance with their Islamic credentials.Analysts say there is ambiguity in the constitution related to women's participation in the presidential election in Iran.
