Manchester - David Beckham decided to retire at the end of the season. Former team-mate, Gary Neville, Beckham assess it had reached the end of his career and feel the time has come to retire.
After more than 20 years of a career in professional football, strengthened six clubs where he earned a peak when uniformed Manchester United, Beckham, who is now 38 years old and finally close the long journey as a footballer.
As soon as Paris St Germain completed the match against Lorient May 25 next, Beckham's status as a retired football official. It also shut down all speculations that Beckham will continue to play for PSG next season.
But Beckham chose another path and called the retirement decision is right because Beckham may feel it's time to do it. French League title is enough to cover a career so brilliant Beckham.
"Perhaps he felt it was tried as far as he could, he wanted to go home. He's already reached the end of his career, he finished his career with a very well at Paris St Germain," Neville said on BBC.
"It's like the end of an era, the end of a generation," he continued.
Neville and Beckham shoulder to shoulder together since 1992 or so-called Class of 92 '. Together with Paul Scholes, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt gave them both the title row for the 'Red Devils' before they split in 2003 when Beckham moved to Real Madrid.
"David is different - he is a giver of excellent cross, feeders, and comfortable playing with him. He may be the most influential players outside the UK who can change the game. Impact that he gave so extraordinary."
