Malaysian opposition leader arrested, banned Media

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysian authorities arrested three opposition figures the government. While the media reported the opposition party banned by the government.

The arrest of these opposition figures following charges bestowed on a Malaysian student activists on charges of sedition. Hundreds of opposition party newspaper is now seized by the police and immediately triggered the recent political tensions.

Malaysian opposition continued peaceful demonstrations after the elections that took place May 5th Malaysia ago. The election results showed the opposition parties lost seats peraihan parliamentary vote. Opposition parties accused the Barisan Nasional coalition government commit fraud.

Although it denies cheating allegations by Prime Minister Najib Razak, it is also possible that cheating did occur. There are some irregularities and fraudulent manipulation of the results of other sounds. So reported Reuters on Thursday (23/05/2013).

While arrests Malaysian authorities are directed to senior politicians People's Justice Party (PKR) Tian Chua, an anti-government activist Haris Ibrahim and members of the opposition Tamrin Ghafar. They protested against the Barisan Nasional in a large protest last Wednesday, May 8.

Chua who tells his arrest on Twitter said police arrested him at the airport and said he was arrested on charges of sedition. Chua also encourage people to get back down to the streets against the arrest.

While Ghafar Ibrahim and detained in a separate place, but it is unclear what charges the arrest of the two politicians. Until now the police did not explain what the purpose of the arrest. Chua was again warned Malaysians not to be afraid and continue to protest peacefully. (Faj)
