Roberts was the leader of Fort Jackson military base in the state of South Carolina. Infidelity was uncovered after dark pair pitted Roberts has been mistreated by him.
"We will investigate the complaint seriously," said U.S. military spokesman Harvey Perritt, as quoted by the Washington Post, Wednesday (22/05/2013).
It is not known when the abuse took place. The military is also silent about the beginnings of complaints from dark pair Roberts.
If convicted, Roberts can be brought to a U.S. military court. Infidelity is forbidden under U.S. military law.
Sex scandal was rife in the U.S. military. Earlier, a U.S. Air Force officer arrested for sexually abusing the woman.
