DAMASCUS - Syrian opposition groups assess Iran and Hezbollah cooperate with Israel in support of President Bashar al-Assad. They assess the Israeli air strikes into Syria last week in an attempt to thwart the opposition control of the weapon.

"Iran and Hezbollah working with Israel to continue to support Assad. Assad has been protecting the border with Israel for 40 years," said Abdulkader Saleh Syrian opposition commander, was quoted as saying on Tuesday (05/14/2013).

For Saleh, the Israeli air strike that killed 42 Syrian soldiers last week, actually intended to prevent the Syrian opposition forces took control arms.

"Opposition forces prepared to seize weapons, so the Israeli attack. There is evidence that lead on this," said Saleh.

Israel so far refused to confirm the attack. But foreign media reports said Israeli warplanes bombed a rocket supplies in Damascus. The rockets were scheduled to be transferred to Hezbollah in Lebanon.

"This attack is basically done to support the Assad government," he said.

According to Saleh, a Syrian military commanders are planning to hand over the weapons to the opposition. But the plan failed because Israel was to attack first. (Faj)
