Suspected Terrorists, Australia Residents Arrested in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH - An Australian citizen accused of four years in jail by a Saudi Arabian court. The man was previously arrested on charges of terrorist acts.

Shayden Thorne has been languishing in jail for 17 months and up in court on terrorism charges. Thorne was arrested after the discovery of a material to conduct jihad in his laptop.

25-year-old boy was admitted that it was not his laptop. He claimed the laptop borrowed from a mosque. SBS reports said on Thursday (05/30/2013).

Thorne lawyer, Abdul Jalil Al-Khalidy said his client has been convicted in a court in Jeddah. The family Thorne said he was surprised by the verdict of the court. They argue it should be given time, before the verdict.

The family continues to seek freedom for Thorne. They plan to send a delegation of tribal elders in order to lobby the Government Noongar Saudi Arabia for freedom Thorne. (Faj)
