Apartment explosion in the Philippines, Six Killed

MANILA - Approximately six people were killed in a massive explosion that occurred at an apartment complex in the Philippines. The explosion also killed people who were under the apartments.

The blast occurred Friday, May 31 evening local time. The magnitude of the explosion led to a hole in the apartment wall. Part of the wall in the form of concrete, fell to the street below the apartment.

Three people in a minibus were reported killed by a part of the concrete. While the other three bodies found in apartment buildings Serena.

Police are still figuring out what caused the explosion. According to Interior Minister Roxas Philippines in March, the entire apartment residents have been evacuated and the investigation is still ongoing.

"It could be an accident, or a chemical explosion. Causes can vary, it is better not to speculate," Roxas said, as quoted by AFP on Saturday (06/01/2013).

In addition to killing six people, this incident also wounded five other people, including a 9-year-old boy. The authorities are currently examining groove gas and prohibited residents continue to approach the scene. (Faj)
