What is Wireless

wireless is wireless technology, in this case is to have telecommunications using electromagnetic waves instead of cables. Currently, wireless technology is growing rapidly, by naked eye can be seen with the increasing number of cellular telephone usage, but it also develops wireless technology used for internet access.

Wireless LAN using elektromagetik waves (radio and infrared) to perform data communication to transmit data from one point to another point without the physical facilities. This connection uses specific frequencies to transmit data, most Wireless LAN using the 2.4 GHz frequency. Frequency is called the Industrial, Scientific and Medical Band or often called the ISM band, as described above.

In some products this equipment uses PCMCIA Card with 11 Mbps capability. There is often a misunderstanding here. The meaning here is 11 mbps maximum capacity card to perform a transmission, it can be said the maximum number of upstream and downstream tools. This ability can not always go as called 11 mbps earlier, if we calculate the loss will not happen about 50%, so the tool is capable of transmitting data 5.5 mbps. This can be done if we are using point-to-point, meaning on both sides using the same equipment.

When you are doing point-to-multipoint, there will be a significant reduction, Multipoint here analogous to the hub, so more and more connected with multipoint such there will be a decreased ability to transmit data. In a device that uses Multipoint Wireless LAN 11 Mbps or sometimes called Access Point, can accommodate approximately 32 individual users, but if that is a LAN connected anyway, there will be a decline in the ability of at least half of it, so a maximum of a Base Transceiver System (BTS) is getting 16 users of the LAN.
This capability can be decreased if at BTS do pen'cekek'an bandwidth such as 128 kbps, then the ability of the distribution of the data from the BTS it would be reduced as well.
