Google Search Engine Domination make a sultry FTC

CALIFORNIA - Federal Trade Commission (FTC) says it wants to take action against Google for using the search engine dominance to hurt competitors.

Quoted from Cnet, Saturday (13/10/2012), the source from Reuters said four of the five commissioners of the FTC believes Google is using its position as the top search engines to hurt competitors.

Meanwhile, The New York Times cited unnamed sources to report that the FTC is preparing a 100-page memo recommending use within government to sue Google.

The FTC has been investigating the situation for more than a year and will make a decision on it goes. In response to this, a Google spokesman said that they were ready to answer questions about his business.

This is not the first time Google faces government scrutiny. Last August, the FTC also hit Google with a fine of USD22, 5 million on tracking the Safari browser.

The FTC is also investigating whether Google has blocked access to patents that should be standard even licensed to competitors. (yhw)
