"This is an important step for the Palestinians, and kesukesan for Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas., We believe, the challenge now is to constructively channel this development," said Churkin, told Russia Today, Friday (11/30/2012).
"Before the voting was held, we heard a lot of threats against Palestinians and among them retaliation from Israel and the United States (U.S.), as well as some EU countries," he added.
Churkin rate, voting can not be used as the arena of confrontation between Israel and the Palestinians. Voting should be a first step to start peace negotiations the two sides.
"Abbas has stressed that he does not regard this act as an act legitimize Israeli and Palestinian officials are not going to use it to isolate Israel," he added.
However, Churkin warned also that the resolution issued by the UN just will not be enough to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that has lasted a long time. Dialogue is necessary to eliminate the threat of Israel's security concerns.
According to the State Red Bear, the conflict between the two parties that have made the international community annoyance. Russia has also stressed the importance of the discussion of the issue of borders based on 1967 lines. (AUL)
