JAKARTA - The accident happened at the Big Gossan underground mine did not affect the re-negotiation with the government of PT Freeport Indonesia. Points discussed in the re-negotiation process will not be different from other companies.
"The process of re-negotiating the provisions of the Act and has no relation to the landslide disaster," said Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Susilo Siswoutomo in Trans Hotel, London, on Wednesday (22.05.13).
He said the process of re-negotiating with Freeport is no different from other companies. "Re-negotiation of contracts applies to all companies, there are thousands of companies," he added.
According to him, there are six issues concerning the re-negotiation, which is an area, state revenue, taxation, investment, location content. While the events that occurred in Freeport was a pure accident, so it will be investigated.
"That's the unfortunate problem. All the victims had been evacuated, the victim's family handled well, and will be conducted investigations involving independent consultants, so know what the cause is," he said.
He appealed, in the unfortunate connotations of intent not to exist because it concerns the safety of lives. "Do not be a safety concern for the bargaining power of investment. We will not bargain offer of salvation," he said. (MRT)
