The event is called "The President", the attention of the Palestinians danced in the middle of a messy political situation. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, to remain in power even after a four-year mandate ends.
Packed program of events such as talent show X-Factor, shows future Palestinian presidential candidate is tested by some experts. For some, the event was like a refresher of the frustration over the political situation in Palestine.
"I spawned this program because we want to show that the Palestinians understand and want a real democracy. We want elections, real elections. However, if we are not able to hold it (the election), we can do it ourselves," said Director of Television Stations Ma ' An Raed Othman, told Sky News on Sunday (05/05/2013).
"There are many Palestinians who say we do not have a leader. So we have to prove to people, that this country a lot of leaders," he added.
Othman added that the party wanted to teach people about the nature of democracy can be achieved whenever we want. According to him, the event managed to go from 1,200 potential candidates to 16 people.
Contestants are required to perform such duties as ambassador for the European countries, though it was only one day. In addition, they are also required to lead a large enterprise as well as answer questions from journalists.
The jury is watching this show is not just anybody. Among the judges are politicians like former Arab League spokesman Hannan Asnawi.
Winners of this event will be determined by the public through SMS. Those who will not be winning any important position in the government but get a car. But the winner will get a great chance to break the Palestinian political environment.
