Riau Education Agency (Disdik) officials stated that Kindergarten (TK) teachers should master children's psychology if they want to maximize educational outcomes in the future.
"This is important because teachers must instill education in children at an early age, not the same as education at other age levels. Hopefully, when they grow up, the child can increase the absorption of education programs," said Head of Riau Education Agency, HM Wardan MP, in Pekanbaru, Sunday (4/11).
According to him, when entering kindergarten education, the child enters a golden age, where brain development and behavior will be easily affected by the surrounding environment.
In his opinion, increasing the competence of kindergarten educators in educating is very important, where toddlers should also be encouraged to continue to explore their hidden abilities.
"Because without special competence, their abilities become stagnant. This is the reason why Disdik holds training courses annually for kindergarten teachers," he said.
Wardan stated that it is desirable that kindergarten teachers who participate in training every year are able to create new breakthroughs in improving their teacher competencies so that whatever material is given is not easily forgotten by their students.
The kindergarten teacher training program specifically said Wardan is done for 10 days every year. "For that reason, it is very unfortunate if there are still teachers who are unable to give birth to new thoughts on how to educate," he said.
Wardan also emphasized that in order for the implementation of education and training especially the kindergarten teachers, it would not seem futile, so the participants would be evaluated. "With this evaluation, it will be known how far they are (kindergarten teachers) after getting new education material," Wardan said.
