West Nusa Tenggara Governor Dr Zulkieflimansyah along with his wife, Head of NTB TP PKK Niken Saptarini Zulkieflimansyah and a group of NTB Provincial Government Department officials are exploring cooperation in education and investment with the Polish Provincial Government of Kujawsko-Pomorskie.

The meeting of Governor Zul and his entourage with Marshal (governor-level) of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province Piotr Calbecki and his Head of Service in the Old City of Torun, discussed various sectors which could be followed up as cooperation between the two provinces.

"NTB has as much potential as Poland, especially Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province, starting from ancient village tourism destinations as well as traditional villages in Lombok and Sumbawa, to the agricultural and bioenergy sectors," Governor Zul said on Thursday (6/12/18).

For Marshal Piotr Calbecki, this visit was a priceless moment. For those Marshal who have served for 4 periods, various opportunities for cooperation or collaboration between two provinces in various business and industrial sectors, including open education.

"It's interesting, because we already have a number of businesses there, such as skuba diving workshops in Lombok and also investments in energy generation in Sumbawa. Kujawsko-Pomorskie also has Nicolaus Copernicus University, the oldest and largest campus in the region," said Marshal Piotr.

In the hometown of philosopher Copernicus, the sending of scholarships for children from NTB to Torun was the main topic of discussion. Up to now, the NTB Provincial S2 student scholarship program has sent 18 awardees to the Collegium Civitas of Warsaw and Vistula University of Warsaw from October to November 2018. In February 2019, 200 NTB students will be sent to Vistula University of Warsaw, as was agreed with Chancellor Vistula University of Warsaw, Prof. Zdzislaw Rappacki on 15 November 2018 ago.

One of the campuses that became the destination in Torun City is Nicolaus Copernicus University (NCU). In addition to science (chemistry, biology and physics) which is the main curriculum, Prof. Buszewski also offers scholarships in agriculture, processing, sports, music, and astronomy.

"Not many people know that here 50% of the existing employment sector is agriculture. Therefore our science prioritizes the agricultural products processing industry, besides biotechnology or bioenergy. And don't forget music majors, especially pianos which are recognized as one of the best in Europe. " explained Prof. Buszewski.

The wife of the Governor who is also the Chair of the NTB Provincial PKK TP also explained the issue of capacity building and human quality, including women's participation in various sectors that were improved in NTB, especially in education, health, and even social politics.

"Who knows, on the NCU campus there are departments that are suitable and relevant to the field of human capacity building, we will be very happy to send our children here. Including student exchanges at the high school level between NTB and Torun and other cities in the Province, for 3 for up to 6 months, for example, "said the Governor.

Cooperation as sister-city between NTB and Kujawsko-Pomorskie Provinces becomes the most possible potential to be realized as soon as possible. The cooperation is expected to boost investment flows from Poland to Lombok and Sumbawa, especially in the fields of tourism, new and renewable energy generation, and waste and waste management. At the same time, the massive sending of students from the undergraduate to doctoral levels is also parallel to be speeded up through a memorandum of understanding built by the NTB campus leaders.
